Just wondering it looks like that you use aluminum pans & pots , if so , do you prefer aluminum over stainless steel pans ? The pork chops and the whole meal looks delicious.
Thank you. I use the lighter pans for things that need to cook fast. I can also maneuver the pan easily for flipping the food. Hope this helps and thank you for watching.

I smoked Cornish Hens one year for Thanksgiving... My mom was very traditional, and threw a fit when she found out we weren't having turkey..... that fit went away quick, when she got a taste of those hens... they were a huge success. Those sides look awesome as well!

I'm getting ready to fry up your Southern Skillet Fried Chicken. I have the spices but I wish I knew what amounts of each spice goes into building the rub. I'll be filling a very large cast iron skillet (12" across at bottom). Thanks!
I never measure. As long as you get the salt and pepper correct your golden.
@@bbqsouthernstyle: Thanks. You made a big point of using no salt, since the mustard takes care of that. I guess I'll use equal parts of every spice. I saw your shaker jar was about 2/3 full. That's all I can go on.

I don't know how I cooked beef or beans before I got my Instant Pot back in 2016. Since it's just me and the wife, I buy just a small chuck. I season and sear the chuck in the Instant Pot, then deglaze with water to remove the fond, before adding the chopped veggies. When I make fries from fresh cut potatoes, I add 1/2 tbsp of baking soda to the water and let them soak for a few minutes, then drain, pat dry and deep dry. I started baking flour and oil for roux a few years ago, it always seemed that I would get distracted stirring the roux in my cast iron skillet, and it burnt.

I've never heard of placing gravy over fried potatoes. The way you make your gravy is unique, blending the veggies and then adding your roux. This is definitely a good comfort meal. It looks absolutely delicious. Will have to try. I know that most of the time ppl use butter and flour to make their roux, but I see you used olive oil. Learn something new every day. I just started watching your channel and saw some interesting meals, meats, and veggies you prepared. Your presentations are on point. TYFS. Be blessed. Fantastic!!!🕊
